The Forgotten Queen of Vasantham plots her comeback

She is without doubt , in my humble opinion, the most talented artiste in our community, who has been forgotten by the nation's official media channel.  To be honest, I have met many people who profess to hate Vasantham and the people associated with it. I usually just label those naysayers as sour grapes.

It has been almost a year since the video incident. But, is it not enough that she has denied it.  Shouldn't the channel be supporting and defending her? Every other day, we see posts on social media that are clamouring for her return.  Even if the channel does not believe in her innocence, what are they even punishing her for? To be honest, it is  really something most people engage in.  Well, if sex was really prohibited, none of us would even exist to read this.

To be honest, whether it was her in the video is immaterial to me. All that matters to me is that she said it wasn't her and I believe her.  Even if it was her, it still would not make a difference. Yes, I am sure the channel would have received some feedback from the General audience. Perhaps, the following scene from VIP (28:35 to 30:15) would serve as a reminder on how the general audience would react. Perhaps the channel should learn to cherish and support its own people first.

I am delighted that Udaya has realised that the world is indeed her oyster.  First it was her debut in professional theatre in RDG's Adukku Veetu Annasamy.

She will be featured in an international award winning play this Friday, 15 January 2016 at 8pm. I found this post on FB, which could not have described the play or the actress any better.

Thank you LV for your beautiful post.

I hope she uses this opportunity as a launchpad to look beyond myopic media channels. I am quite sure she would be an asset to any organisation. I wish her all the best.

Description of the Play

Imagine being 29 and unable to leave your country.
Nassim Soleimanpour dissects the experience of a whole generation in a wild, utterly original play from Iran. Disallowed a passport due to his refusal to do military service, he turns his isolation to his own advantage with a play that requires no director, no set and a different actor for every performance.
Five performers have bravely agreed to tackle this refreshing interactive play that explores the concept of personal freedom, limits, conformity and choices via an allegorical menagerie of animals. The performers are strictly not allowed to do any research and will only see the script for the first time upon stepping on stage.

Veteran stage and television actors Neo Swee Lin and Sani Hussin, Youtube star and actress Munah Bagharib, Vasantham actress, singer and host Udaya Soundari and MediaCorp Love 97.2FM DJ and TV celebrity Zhou Chongqing (Dennis Chew) will take you down the rabbit hole in this daring theatrical experiment.
